Tim’s Tidbits

Another year has come and gone. What came in 2017? Did you have times of joy, gladness, trouble, heartache, success or failures? For all of us, it is a mixture of those things. Some more than others, but our days are full of mixed emotions.

Have you taken time to thank God nonetheless for another year? Psalm 107:20-21 ESV says: “He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!” If you have repented of your sins, God has promised healing by THE way of His shed blood. We do not know what 2018 holds in store. I am sure there will be times of joy and times of sorrow. There will be moments of peace and moments of chaos. Some slippery moments and some sure footed moments. But overall, God is already there.

“Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalms 139:16 ESV

In the coming year, whatever financial situations will arise, whatever personal decisions need to be made, whatever God’s direction is; trust him for your 2018. That’s the best New Year’s resolution to make! He has made a way for us to be delivered from our destruction. And, has shown over and over again how trustworthy He really is.

Have a blessed new year!

Tim

The time has come to bid fare well to the year 2017 and look forward with anticipation to the New Year. This past year, has brought us loss and gain, laughter and sorrow, hope and God’s amazing grace.  Through it all, it has been my joy and honor to serve alongside Tim and Lyndsey Reese. They have been such a blessing to our ministry. Our seventh grade through high school youth group have grown in number and I believe have grown in their relationship with the Lord and His church. But we have also partnered in the overall ministry of our church as Bro. Tim has assumed a more active role in preaching.

Along with Tim and Lyndsey, we are blessed with a dedicated group of volunteers that guide the growth of our elementary group. We are so grateful for the leadership of Courtney Collins that helps our little ones grow up in the faith. Add to them a group of faithful Sunday school teachers who accept the challenge of teaching the Word every Sunday morning. We are grateful for the leadership of Bro. Paul Kester who faithfully serves as our Sunday school Superintendent. I know you will keep all these faithful servants in your prayers.

Along with all these servants, we are also grateful for the service of our office staff. Helen Hoogendoorn is awesome at   multi-tasking. Helen serves in the office, helps clean the church building, and leads the nursery volunteers. Helen wears many hats and has done so for over twenty years. Our church should be very thankful for faithful and dedicated staff members and a host of giving servants.

But there is more to celebrate. As I write this letter, the work on the remodel of your church building is nearing completion. I believe that we will be holding our first service in our newly remodeled building very soon. We are planning a “reopening’ celebration that will include music, praise and worship along with recognition for the people who worked so hard to make this possible. I have asked Bro. Tim to organize this historic event.  We will post information on our website, in the local paper and in our bulletin as to when we will have our celebration.

We are blessed with so much talent in our church. But, all the talent in the world is of little value without love. We have dedicated servants such as deacons, trustees, worship leaders and people who give with generosity. But I believe this; all these gifts are fruitful because we also have great love for our Lord and each other. May our love for the Lord and each other abound more and more until the Lord returns for His church. When He does, may He find us all faithful!

See You Sunday!

Oren
