I Will Sabbath!

I Will Sabbath!

Sabbath is not simply a command to obey—it is a gift to receive. God invites us to stop striving, find restoration, and realign our hearts in worship.

Genesis 2:1-4; Exodus 20:8-11

God, in His wisdom and love, built Sabbath into the rhythm of creation—not because He was tired, but because we would be.

Why do we need to Sabbath?

  1. To Stop

  1. To Rest

  1. To Worship

Additional Scripture: Psalm 23:1-3; Psalm 46:10; Luke 5:16; Matthew 11:28-30; Mark 6:30-31; Hebrews 4:9-10; Isaiah 58:13-14; Psalm 92:1-5; Deuteronomy 5:12-15

Call to Action

  • This week, intentionally identify one thing you will lay down for a Sabbath day.
  • Practice resting without explaining or apologizing.
  • End your Sabbath by naming three things you are grateful for.
  • Don’t try to Sabbath perfectly. Try to Sabbath faithfully.
  • Start small.
